The Local Preparedness Program staff provide technical assistance for prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery mission areas while assessing progress towards each jurisdiction’s multi-year planning, training and exercise goals. The Local Preparedness Program staff conducts Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) sub-grantee quarterly monitoring visits, State Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP) sub-grantee quarterly monitoring visits and facilitates quarterly area meetings. The Local Preparedness Program coordinates with local Emergency Managers for a review and update of the Local Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) crosswalk which is based on FEMA Comprehensive Preparedness Guide (CPG 101 version 3) requirements. Local Jurisdiction EOP’s are reviewed utilizing this crosswalk prior to any reimbursement of grant funds. Local Preparedness Program staff will continue to be involved in several planning and exercise initiatives and will serve as exercise evaluators, exercise controller or exercise player in EOC exercises throughout the state.
